Argos Terminal in the Port of Rotterdam
Our terminal is an important link in the 24-hour logistics of the Port of Rotterdam. With a current capacity of over 650,000 m3, it acts as a buffer for the refineries and storage facilities. The terminal helps reduce the extensive waiting times for fuel oil that often arise there.
100% accessible; 100% available
The Argos terminal lies in deep water and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have 50 tanks of varying size, many of them heated. With our advanced blending equipment, we can produce products in any desired viscosity.
Biodiesel
To secure the production and distribution of quality biodiesel, Argos has launched a venture, DutchBioDiesel (DBD), at its terminal with some partners. Annual capacity is about 250,000 metric tonnes. The residual heat from a nearby factory is used as an energy source for the production process. European demand for biodiesel will rise over the next few years because of the EU’s biofuels directive, which mandates the replacement of a certain percentage of vehicle fuel with biofuels, including biodiesel. Some of that biodiesel is sold in our petrol stations.
